My passion is using photography and story-telling to create positive change in the world.
➢ Previously Head of Communications at a leading international development agency, I now put my people and project management skills to good use as a consultant in quickly understanding client needs and meeting them with energy, tact and skill.
➢ Documentary photographer who can also provide the story to go with the image; my pictures and articles have been widely published including in The Guardian, The Independent, BuzzFeed News, The Economist, Il Reportage, New Internationalist, Middle East Eye and Elle Magazine.
➢ Experienced writer with a talent for weaving human voices into a narrative to make authentic, compelling copy for media, social media, NGO websites and more.
➢ Inspiring trainer/ facilitator who can share my passion for photography, story-telling and social media with others, especially as a way to amplify the voices of those directly affected by poverty, conflict and injustice. Among other training projects, I developed and ran a three-month psychosocial photography course for Syrian refugee children, that supported them to express themselves and grow in confidence through taking increasingly impressive photos. I have also run training on subjects such as communications strategy, social media and story gathering for NGOs in such diverse places as Brazil, Egypt and Afghanistan.
➢ Beirut-based Middle East specialist with a decade’s experience in the region, including a year spent studying Arabic in Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus.
If you are looking for a creative NGO communications professional with a particular focus on photography and a thorough understanding of the Middle East, get in touch.
